Brent Peters Drift Style

Just a quick update to what's going on with our lil drift adventures at the moment,
The final round of D1WA Drift Championship was a blast the skyline was running really well and with the new duel caliper handbrake set up and Penrite race brake fluid the car was easier to control in the wet especially with the fast off power outside clip that judges wanted. I was able to qualify in the top 16 and went through to the pro class battles wining a battle against a big power v8 skyline, from this I went through to the top 8 where the judges called a re-run with the Season Champion Alex Zaffino who was fresh back from taking 2nd in the Japanese G1 JP event, unfortunately I spun on the re-run, driving at this level with Alex is a Highlight for me.

Following on from D1WA round 3 I entered the 2nd round of the ADGP driftkhana series, I was able to stay within in the top 16 though I tried a bit hard to grab higher gears on the tight layout and lunched the gearbox.

After getting a new gearbox in it was back to Collie Motorplex and out to the back section for the D1WA Battle X comp, this was a new format for drifting with a computer randomly giving you a number and 5 other drivers to compete against for the day, the 4 drivers that win the most battles goes to a final. Unfortunately I broke an axel in prac, after replacing that went straight into the battles and on my second battle I had a spin on my lead run, the chase car in the wet had no where to go also spinning and hitting me in the side. I came out with some bruising (both body and ego) but the skyline came off second best with substantial damage to the pillar, rails and rack.

Have no fear the day after Battle X I picked up a new shell and thanks to the help of some of best local Mechanics I have the car almost ready to go to a practice meet prior to loading on to a transporter to head to Darwin with Team WA for the National State Of Origin Drift event where I will have the chance to drive with some of the best drifters from around Australia.

This experience will set me up in good stead for next season
