Honda sign Troy Herfoss for 2020

Honda is pleased to announce the signing of two-time Australian Superbike Champion Troy Herfoss for the 2020-racing season, contesting the ASBK Championship on board the Fireblade.

“I’m really proud to continue with Honda, signing on for my 7th season. I’m excited to go racing and I’m looking forward to many more years.” Herfoss said.

Herfoss and Honda have enjoyed great success including the ultimate prize of the Championship in 2016, runner up in 2017 and then the title again last year.

“Big thank you to everyone I have worked with at Honda for their support over all of those years. It’s also really great to be continuing with Deon and the team; we’ve had a very successful first year and a half so it’s a pleasure to be working with him again into 2020.” Herfoss finished.

Team owner Deon Coote echoed Herfoss’s sentiment; “It’s exciting to keep the relationship going, Troy is a professional in everything he does his dedication to the team and drive to win is second to none, so we are looking forward to what 2020 will hold including some exciting new partnerships.”

“We enjoy being part of the Honda family, in Australia the journey so far in the ASBK has been satisfying as well as internationally with the opportunities we’ve had for Troy to race overseas with Honda as well.” Coote finished.

Honda Motorcycles Marketing Specialist Jason Bradley (pictured) finalised the contracts yesterday, noting is was an easy decision due to Herfoss’s impressive commitment to racing and his professionalism.

“Troy is a really committed athlete, to his team and the sport, which is something we value. We are certainly pleased to keep him on the Fireblade next year. Deon and the team work diligently to get results so we look forward to seeing what they can achieve for the remainder of the season and into 2020,” said Bradley.

As the reigning titleholder, Herfoss is determined to keep the number 1 plate for another season as he prepares for round 6 of the ASBK in Phillip Island this weekend.

“We are really motivated to get some strong results this weekend in Phillip Island and head into the final round next month with a fighting chance of winning.” Herfoss finished.
