PAYNE AND STANAWAY LIGHT UP NZ

PAYNE AND STANAWAY LIGHT UP NZ

Penrite Racing’s return to New Zealand was an action-packed adventure for the two Kiwi drivers, Matt Payne and Richie Stanaway who salvaged solid results despite enduring multiple trying moments.

The highlights of the Taupō Super 400 event were Payne’s blistering qualifying pace which saw the young driver claim another pole (his first Top 10 Shootout Pole) and Stanaway’s impressive drive from the back of the grid in Race 7 to cross the line 6th in a wet and wild race.

“I've never experienced something like it, and it's something that means a lot to me, for all the fans, wearing our merchandise, supporting me and the team, it's crazy, I never thought, you know, something like this would happen in my life.” - Matt Payne

It was amazing to see the overwhelming fan support for the Penrite Racing team as the New Zealand fans got right behind the team and drivers to celebrate the first Supercars round at Taupō and the first race in Supercars since the famed Pukekohe Park Raceway was decommissioned in 2023.

Penrite Racing heads into Round 4 of the championship, the Perth SuperSprint [17-19 May], in 2nd place in the teams championship.
