Dear Penrite.
I own the above mentioned Holden Commodore Ute (2002 VY) which has the Ecotech V6 Engine fitted along with a manual gearbox.
The Ute is coming up for its 380,000km service and I'm looking for a different oil to use. After much 'online' research your Penrite HPR 10W-50 Oil comes up as an option. The Ute is 'Dual-Fuel' (LPG & Petrol). I'm currently using a 15W-40 grade oil, semi-synthetic.
I'm interested in knowing whether a drop from 15W to 10W is going to benifit the engines wear and internal engine condition? I ask this based on the fact that the Ute is coming up to 380,000km and that the engine may actually still need a 15W Oil due to the kilometers it has travelled?
I get the Ute serviced every 6months/10,000km and aren't one to buy sub-standard products as I believe you get what you pay for. I'd rarther use a Fully-Synthetic Oil and like the fact that your HPR 10W-50 Oil is recommended for both Petrol and LPG (Dual Fuel) engines. Only concern that I have is with a 10W Oil, along with the kilometers the Ute has done, I may then experience 'lifter noise'. I'm interested in knowing your thoughts and recommendations please.
