Your "rubber grease" made the rubber bushings on my brake-caliper-slides swell! To the point where I couldn't reassemble the brake caliper because the bushings were too swollen to fit in the bore!

(mind you, this was a good few years back. Has your Rubber Grease formula/chemistry been the same for the last decade or so?)

Hi Mark,

We have not come across any issue with the use of our Rubber Grease causing swelling as our Rubber Grease is a non- harmful clay based grease containing castor oil for use when contact with natural and/or synthetic rubber is likely to occur.

For brake caliper sliding pins we recommend the use of our Copper Eze as the grease is used to stop the sliding pin seizing and not to lubricate the rubber boot https://www.penriteoil.com.au/products/copper-eze

Kind Regards,

Tate

I didn’t say “boots”... I said “bushings”... the ones that go on/around the slide pins.

Hi Mark,

Apologies for the misunderstanding.

For the brake caliper slides our Copper Eze would be the recommended grease https://www.penriteoil.com.au/products/copper-eze

Our Rubber Grease is a non- harmful clay based grease containing castor oil for use when contact with natural and/or synthetic rubber is likely to occur https://www.penriteoil.com.au/products/rubber-grease

Kind Regards,

Tate

Well it made the bushings swell, forcing me to buy new ones, and use high-temp silicone grease instead. Might want to pass that on to the relevant people!
