Ive been a mechanic for 20 years and have used serveral different greases on rubber like, vaseline, dielectric, rubber grease.

I am wanting to know what grease is best to use for the below tasks,

I currently use Penrite rubber grease and dielectric if no rubber available.

Injector o ring?

Coolant o rings?

Rubber hose,(fuel, water and breather/intake hose)?

The main reason I use grease is for to aid in installation and removal and also to prolong the life of old and new seals and hoses

Thanks for you assistance

Hi Sam

We have not heard of Rubber Grease being used with an injector o ring and we have concerns about how it would react over time in this high temp environment. We therefore suggest the injector manufacturer be contacted to see what is recommended.

Although you rubber grease is used to protect rubber surfaces please note that it's operating range is below 80°C and the applications you have noted will likely all exceed this.

Cheers
