I have a 1955 Chevy Belair, running a 283 small block, which is a 1965 to 1967 year engine. Which seems to be pretty standard with a turbo 700 transmission..

my question is what is Penrite recommendations on engine & transmission oil to run for this?

thanks for you help.

Hi Scott

Our data for the Bel Air between these years states Classic Light 20W-60 for the engine and Gear Oil 80W-90 for the Transmission. Please bear in mind, our information does not advise the transmission specification but is suitable for the original equipment.
